Idem and Kiva Team Up to Make a Difference
Kiva.org is the world’s first person-to-person micro-lending website, enabling individuals to make a loan (from just $25) to a developing world entrepreneur – such as a goat herder in Uganda or a carpet weaver in Afghanistan. Kiva’s inspiring efforts have earned recognition from the New York Times Magazine and The Oprah Winfrey Show.
Idem so strongly believes in the vision of Kiva.org that we have formed a partnership to assist this organization with their translation needs.
Idem supports Kiva with translation services for projects requiring legal, financial, and other technical expertise. This support enables Kiva to serve its Field Partners with professionally translated communications and documents. Idem also provides support for Kiva's due diligence process.
“Idem's generous support has been invaluable to Kiva.org's work in micro-lending,” said Naomi Baer, Translation Program Manager at Kiva.org. “With professional translations of key documents, Kiva.org can be assured that our Field Partners have clear, accurate information in hand, and our staff can get the word out about the Kiva platform much more efficiently. Idem's high-quality translations have paved the way for ease of access to microcredit among tens of thousands of entrepreneurs around the world.”
